Lucie Rosano, Esthetician & Owner

For over 35 years I have worked in the Esthetics industry. I am always inspired by the friendships I have made through my business and the way a simple manicure or wax can make a person’s day. In January 2019, for the second year in a row, I have been given the honour of being Ottawa’s Favourite Esthetician by the FACES Magazine Awards.

My passion for the Esthetics industry began while I was very young. I graduated in Cosmetology and Makeup Esthetics at the Versailles Academy, as one of their first students.

With Holt Renfrew, I launched their “Prescriptive” line, and passionately worked as a Cosmetology Manager until fragrances began to affect my health. Although I thought that my dream career would be lost from me, knowing that I could not work in an environment with fragrant ingredients, the opportunity of a lifetime entered my path.

When I was just 25 years old, my mentor and owner of Esthetics by Joan, Joan Hart entrusted me with the future of her business. Since then, I’ve been providing my dedicated training, experience, and value to our clients.

I have seen the industry transform from the 1980s to what it is today. Technology, the popularity of certain services, and clientele may have changed, but the heart of customer service remains at the core of Esthetics by Lucie. Every client who walks into our salon is welcomed as if they were our own family. We strive to provide the best possible service we can and take a customized approach to ensure our clients are satisfied.

We understand how good it is to feel your best, and as younger clients have sought out these services, we offer fair prices for everyone.

I love running my business and seeing the smiles on my clients’ faces when they lay down their burdens at our doorstep and enjoy some pampering time.

My journey to become Lucie’s partner at Esthetics by Lucie happened fatefully; at just the right time. I see the value she brings to her business, and I have worked hard to bring my education of skin care theory, cosmetic ingredients, and esthetics to the team.

I came to Canada as an International Student and majored in Business Administration. As for most students, it was challenging to find a job opportunity. So, I did what most students would do and started from the bottom to make a living. I worked my way up in retail, until I was a Manager.

During this time, I felt drawn towards the Esthetics Industry. I decided to go back to school and earned my diploma in Esthetics. This decision turned out to be perfect, as it quickly landed me a salon job. In May 2018, a mutual connection introduced me to Lucie, and as I learned about her family-oriented business, I was instantly welcomed into her team.

Since then I have been a part of the Esthetics by Lucie mission: to provide quality esthetic services to our clients and treat them as if they were family. For our team, it’s all about customer service—paying attention to their lives and the details they share with us while we shellac their nails or sugar their legs.

I love to take care of people and see how happy they are when their appointment is finished, and our reputation as the “go to” salon in Ottawa is constantly growing. I can’t wait to see what the future holds for Esthetics by Lucie.
